Rivalry among the sisters

when i was first introduced to the "truth", i was so distracted by the love and affection that the members were showing me that i was ready to convert into the religion without thinking twice.

i was conviced that jws were god's people (i still think some of them are).

i made it my goal to get baptized as i wanted to be part of the "only" religion that produce such good people.

My sister says (and still does) that she never had a 'real' friend in the Hell. She says the sisters are superficial and that makes it hard to have a real friendship with them. I remember, gosh, must have been 8 years ago that she was in a real funk. The reason? A sister who she thought was her best friend just decided one day she was not a 'good' associate because she went to see a pg-13 movie. The kicker...she went behind my sisters back, gossiped to everyone about her to the point a couple of Elders had a talk with her. My sister was devastated. The best thing...the movie she went to was attended by myself, another brother who was an elder, his wife, and another Ministerial Servant. None of us was questioned.

My point....the 'cattiness' by the sisters is something that is real. I remember even a few Servants meetings where the issue was brought up concerning sisters. Usually ending in someone cracking a joke about 'her time of the month' or something like that...

Can't Understand Why This Is Allowed

i moved to roseburg, oregon.

the jehovah's witnesses are allowed to set up a display and man it right outside of the local library, and they are there every day and hour the library is open.

i am [redacted], the director of the douglas county library system and wanted to respond to your website email of december 11, 2015. i have consulted with the county attorneys office about your concern about jehovahs witnesses use of the front porch of the library building in roseburg, and my understanding of the law is as follows.. .

Like it or not, they view it as freedom of speech. As such, they will not 'infringe' that freedom of the Witnesses. I would suggest if that irritates you, you can always set up your own Anti Witnessing cart as previously suggested. Or, if you are active in another religion, have them set up their own.

Actually, it depends on who the Substitute CO is. I have personally seen one Sub CO who was also a Special Pioneer that appointed a Ministerial Servant in my old congregation. I really think that it depends on who he is, and how well he and or his family is connected.

it has become very common for christians to try to disavow the disgusting ethics of the god of the old testament.. this is a dishonest venture.. the capricious, vengeful deity of israel was "the god and father of our lord jesus christ".. putting aside the damaging things he said and did himself, jesus comes with some worrying history.. gentle jesus meek and mild is inseparable from baby-murdering soldiers of jah.

here's mine: i'm 14 years old, just baptised and a old boy married elder of about 60 odd comes up to me and says " ooooooooooh!

When I was a 14 y/o boy and was in field service, my mom went on a call with this one sister. I was alone with two 30 something sisters who started to complain about the, well, size of their husbands you know what. I just sat there totally in silence. Near the end of the conversation, the one sister turned and looked at me and said she was sorry, she forgot I was back there. Right then the other sister said, and I quote, "I bet he got a big one. Look at those feet!" then the other sister asked what size of shoes I wear. When I told them I wore a size 14, they both started giggling like school age girls asking me when do I turn 18? Right about then my mom came back.

Someone tell me why the Watchtower is tax exempt?

there is a watchtower kingdom hall.

they do not pay any local sales tax or property tax.

You do know that is the REAL reason they count their time in field servus. It is a way to show the Government all the "free bible training" they are providing to the community.

Can a baptism be annulled?

i joined this site about 4 years ago and life was very different to say the least.

i was a jw and started the process of 'waking up' after experiencing life threatening blood loss due to complications of a pregnancy.

i was married with two kids (husband was an ms) and was a stay-at-home mom.

Well, since I left last month I just don't consider myself a Witless anymore. Annulled? In my opinion, it is irrelevant. Who cares what they think since I am not under their authority.
